Hi, family getting bigger so tot of changing my ride.. And the Freed caught my attention, will be getting a 2nd hand one if possible. What is the greatest differences between the G and GL? From the homework I done, it is the power sliding door and auto climate right? what is the pro and con of the G in this case? Thank you for any input...

You had already highlighted the main 2 diff between G and GL.
Pro of G - Cheaper
Con of G - most of the things are manual.

FYI, mine is a G model... till now no regret on the minor diff.

Good choice......i chose FREED due to my twin...now got 3 children, maid, me & my wife.....mine is GL 8 seater.....meets my needs....excellent ride
But wat is e price difference between these 2 ??? And wat is their age....maybe we can discuss.....cos u already have the answer btw G & GL.....

What other bros said earlier is correct, major differences are very minor. Engine (i-vtec) exactly same. That's the most important thing.

In terms of $$$ certainly G model is cheaper than GL, HOWEVER it does not mean G has lesser quality!!!

Yet, many bros here are having G type and they never complaint as they can do modification/touch up as per their preferences. You'll have plenty of areas on the modification.

So back to your preferences, i would say both type certainly please you.

hooray_fun: Actually there is only a handful of Freed in sgcarmart, dunno whether is it worth the buy. Looks kinda ex. 2009 G going for 75k and 2008 GL going for 69k.

the reason i chose FREED was cos it was that common on the road,

but for 1.5 engine not too desirable! (oh and my son it!)

but afterall, its a family car, so safety come first!

every car has its pros n cons, but imptly must ensure its affordable!

FREED is definitely a car for all generations!

as there is a recall for FREED for a defect, you can use this to lower the price!

G and GL from Japan, has standard left passenger autodoor,
One of the hardcore technical Freed owner in this forum, already have blue print to install auto door on the left passenger

Ok, looks like i din do a good job at my homework. Din know freed from japan have power sliding door. Actually aircon Thingy and all the manual stuff I am alrite, but would prefer power sliding door for family convenience. Den how to see from sgcarmart if it's japan or indon?

Miscommunication. PI 7 or 8 seater car fr japan only comes with left side sliding door. Driver side do not have sliding door. Indonesia car imported by Kah motor has got both sliding door but comes only in 7 seater. Hope tis helps.

As far as i understand, as of today, all PIs stocks (brand new or pre-owned) are from JAPAN

however, if you are referring to the pictures, the ONLY obvious physical difference is on the RADIO ANTENNA
Japan: located on the right front pilar (driver side)
Indonesian: located on the right rear roof top

certainly, you are advised to check directly to the stores on the car's condition, paperworks etc

hi bro, indon FREED come without CVT gearbox, this is the big diffrent. CVT gear box is better.

Their supply very little cos Kah motor when brought in oredi around $85-90k during low coe.

Ok, den I will stick to japan... Anyway I gotta off load my current ride before I can makebplan for next ride.... Sad....
