Why you need OBD2 reader? What type data do you want?
Noted: OBD2 Code Reader
The OBD means on board diagnostics. The OBD2 code reader is used in car, as car accessories for diagnostic, or getting various ecu data, etc...

Re: OBD2 for our JDM Freed?
Hi HFSG,
I'm exploring to use my previous OBD2 from my previous ride to read off ECU data and present them on a additional a screen that I had on my dash..
But AFAIK, OBD2 is US-standard and most JDM rides are non-compliant to OBD2 although it still host a OBD2 connector with OBD1 pin layouts. So i was trying out my luck to ask around if fellow bros have used a OBD2 scanner which is able to read the ECU data off our FREED..
