Re: Evaluating the OBD2
There are tons of software available, which are fully compatible with WIFI OBD interface, such as engine running parameters monitoring, DTC reading and clearing, MPG meter, etc.
By using the device you can monitor all these parameters from your PC, Mac, iPhone, Ipad etc...
Works great with Android OS...
With a compatible software or you can even write your own software on a specified hardware platform if need, because the AT commands are fully documented and very well explained. With proper software installed in the host device, you may have following parameters read out from your vehicle
Vehicle Speed
RPM
Fuel Consumption
Engine Coolant Temp
Fuel Pressure
Calculated Engine Load
Throttle Position
Intake Manifold Pressure
Air Intake Temp
Timing Advance
Mass Air Flow
Fuel Level
Barometric Pressure
EVAP System Vapor Pressure
Fuel Trim
Works great with Android Torque (Suggested)
Supported Software Compatible for Windows, OSX, Palm, Pocket-PC, Linux, Android, DOS, and Windows Smartphone
Not compatible for iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, instead please see our WiFi Diagnostic Interface Scanners.
Works with OBD-II Complaint Vehicles.
Supports all OBD2 protocols : ISO15765-4 (CAN), ISO14230-4 (KWP2000), ISO9141-2, J1850 VPW, J1850 PWM.

Re: Evaluating the OBD2
to share what I have got is this ELM327 Interface OBDII/OBD2 Car Diagnostic Scanner with Bluetooth (About S$18). This will work with devices with Android OS, if you are using iPhone/iPad/iPod, then you have to get the ELM327 Interface OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner with WiFi Wireless, this will cost up to S$45.
Btw, as long as the interface you are getting is the OBD-2 not OBD-1, then it will work with most of the car after year 2006.

I meant that the OBD2 scanners which i have used previously with my ride(used with laptop OS -Windows) is not able to detect/connect with our ride's ECU.
That's why I was hesitant to buy another OBD2 scanner unless I'm sure that the right OBD2 scanner has been tested and work with our JDM ride..
Thanks for the pic of the OBD2 scanner, i will do some scouting on ebay to find the similiar one that you are using.. (or would be even better if you can direct me to the actual buy-URL ..)
