Post by kevinlim Wed 15 Feb 2012, 11:27 am

I notice that when our Freed fuel tank indicator reach 3bar, It will very fast when down to 1 bar (Red bar)
Than after some time will blink the (Fuel tank) logo.
My question is. Anyone try before. If reach 1 bar + (Fuel tank) logo blink
How much KM u can go?

Anyone tested?

Oic. Then did u check the fuel range? Example: fuel when u top up full tank reset to zero. Range will indicated value abt 500km. While u drive the fuel low slowly go low. And your range will start to go down too. When the (fuel tank) light up. What is the range value now?

For me when full and after resetting will read about 540km. For the next 2/3 days if I do highway driving will show that I can go upto 700km on that full tank, but as always by the time it reaches to refuel its done about 580km.
The last 6 blips are very erratic, so be careful, better to know what kind of mileage you normally get.

Never tried up to 1 bar pale
the most extreme experience for me when it was 2 bars remaining...
Could not remember the remaining mileage at that point.

Yes agree for the last 5-6 bars remaining, it will drop very fast even without you realize it.

In Singapore, when it comes to the situation fuel reminder light on, i give the manual range within 10km must top up.
And for the Malaysia trip, i won't even dare to think and test the fuel limit.
Always, when reach remaining 1/4 quarter, i must top up soonest as possible Very Happy

I had a terrible experience couple of months back while returning to SG from KL.

I begin my journey with 3/4 tanks.

I passed a SHELL station with 1/4 left thinking that it should last till near custom. Signage indicates less than 100km to JB.

I am dead wrong......After i reach no bar.....(NO Light on the fuel indicator).....Still no petrol station in sight.....

I was cursing and swearing Nabei......siao liao lor......with kids and the sky looks cloudy and going to rain......

I think i travelled for around 10-13km more and finally exit into Bukit Indah to pump at Petronas.....the only one around.

My suggestion in M'sia is before you start your journey, always pump full tank......When reach almost 1/4, must pump regardless what brand unless u very sure the next pump station is less than 1/4 tank journey away. Cos different driver got different driving style and FC is also not the same......

for such a situation as bro howie, you can switch off aircon and radio to preserve your fuel ...

and use a light foot approach while driving ...

lastly pray for a petrol station!
