Re: Throttle Controller on 17rims
Bro, i would suggest you can call kelvin for appointment, i can ask bro jacklin_fd to make appointment with the workshop.
Kelvin certainly has known the Freed member if you mentioned bro Jack's name.
if you still find any problem, do pm bro jack or me, ok?
@ bro Jack, pls ask Kelvin to treat freed member a kopi/tea, while waiting in workshop, or ask him to become advertiser in this forum, i think it's a win-win situation for all of us.

bro nick, they installed this as they had change to 17s rims!
bigger n heavier, so use throttle control to maintain FC!
if you on 15s, dun think necessary...
... unless you got spare cash!

Guys,
I would like to share with you my experience of the THROTTLE CONTROLLER. As I believe all the throttle controller should connect to our ECU, last night when I pick up my ride at the carpark. Once I switch on the engine, I notice that the engine check light was on (usually it should turn off by itself after a few sec).
Without bothering it so much, I start to release my footbrake and move off. Once I start to step on my pedal immediately, I feel something is wrong with my ride (I can't feel the power/acceleration). I stopped my ride at 1 corner and switch off /on the engine a few times but no improvement. Without any choice I got to call for tow service and send my ride to the workshop for recovery.
The mechanic called me this morning and informed the problem is from our ECU due to low power. He also told that he might not have the technical skills to remedy my issue cause he notice there is a cable which was connected to the ECU which might be the cause to drain out some voltage from the ECU ???? (I'm not sure whether is it true).
Therefore, I allow him to disconnect the connection of the throttle controller in order for him to reset my ECU and the problem was remedy!!!!

I heard many cases of defective throttle controllers, some about 6 months up the lorry liao.
Bro kenneth, how long you have been using yours?
Most cases when the device is defective, you have no control of the throttle, it is kind of scary, imagine the device breakdown in the middle of expressway Luckily, yours is in the carpark, not so bad ......

Re: Throttle Controller on 17rims
Bro Gary,
Ya consider myself lucky. I really cannot imagine what will happen if I was on my way from CCK to Changi with my 2 kids in... I will get more panic
You're right when the device is defective, you got no control at all. No matter how hard you try to step on the pedal. It just useless.
I used it for a more than a year... so I consider I got all the $$ in return after divided by 365days.
Thus, I would like all our memebers who are using this device to take extra precaution and those who intend to purchase really consider the outcome. For my case the cable was disconnect from the ECU but the device was still there.
Lesson learnt

Re: Throttle Controller on 17rims
I had removed mine after been warned by others. Even though, it is yet to give me any problem. But it is good to know how to disconnect it,and at least you can try to isolate the problem yourself first.

Re: Throttle Controller on 17rims
I was considering getting a throttle controller a few months back when I decided I needed 17" rims. As soon as I changed to 17s, my FC also improved. It was surprising as all I'd heard was big rims = big FC. Not so in my case. I wonder if the winter (snow) tyres were really gripping the dry road surface too much and causing lower performance???
I also noticed that even the steering feels lighter with my new rims!

Re: Throttle Controller on 17rims
At this moment, most likely yours from Japan.
Another check also very simple, check whether your antena is on the right side above the driver window, If yes, it is affirmative made in jepun.
Another one, please open the sun shade above the driver, you should able to see Japanese words, or manual book also in japanese.
If it is KM, the gear would be P R D 1 2 3
Fyi, 1st and the only generation KM imported the Freed was from Indonesia.
