My FREED ... My Battery ...
a year after purchasing my FREED, i had my car battery replaced upon advice during routine servicing.
OEM batt was Panasonic and had it changed to Varta as had good experience with this brand.
but only into a year plus the Varta gave up on my FREED!!!
mechanic told me Varta now designed in Germany but made in China!
he recommended me this brand to try:
Rocket Automobile Batteries
The premium quality and performance product in the Lion Batteries brand portfolio is the iconic Rocket brand. Introduced to the Australian market in 1995, the Rocket brand represents the ultimate in Sealed Maintenance Free (SMF) technology. Sourced from Global Battery Company in Korea, the Rocket brand offers consumers a range of high cranking calcium SMF products featuring an impressive range of performance and safety features.
Rocket branded products offer a premium high performance range of black batteries which have proven their impressive credentials across automotive, marine and deep cycle applications.
PS: sadly the Rocket batt did not make my FREED go faster!

Mr. President, you must compare apple with apple...
your lovely ride has heavy duty ICE on board, whereby most of the other normal humble bros here in the forum, has limited ICE on board.
Maybe, just maybe, that answer why your batter is exhausted so fast...
btw, i had replaced my batter last year (after 2 years from the purchase of my ride)
I'm using amaron battery, get the contact from sgcarmart forum

Bro Ed,
Mr Amaron in my previous ride failed me just slightly after 1 year... which is why I was quite disappointed with Amaron and looking for alternatives...

Bro Ed,
You might be right about that i have a fair bit of electronics in my prev ride, but 1+ year for the battery to fail might seem a bit short leh .. anyway, might check it out and give it one more try again...

Re: My FREED ... My Battery ...
Just when I was recharging myself on a Cruise with my family.. my battery also happily discharging itself .. when i got back after 4 days, completely dead...
Finally my battery decided to fail on me.. on further check, it was not the stock battery as i mentioned earlier, but an Amaron. Guess the prev owner did changed it back in Dec'10..so it lasted 23 months...

Re: My FREED ... My Battery ...
Hi people,
A bit of a contribution on my side's experience about battery.
Stock - traditional battery (those require to top up battery water), last me 2yrs ~ 100k mileage
2nd battery - Amaron (maintenance free), last me only 15mths ~ 75k mileage.
3rd battery - Globatt (maintenance free), just change for S$110 at River Valley Road tyre store (firestone).
Quite piss off with Amaron, believeing it will beat the traditional type of battery's life span. Or is it my high usage?
