Michael Schumacher's to go Home

Michael Schumacher's wife is building a £10 million medical suite in their family home so the former F1 ace can leave hospital.

Corinna Schumacher, 45, decided to act after doctors told her that it was highly unlikely that her husband would ever come out of his medically induced coma.

The medical suite will be installed in their £25 million mansion next to Lake Geneva, Switzerland.

A family friend of Schumacher's said: "Miracles happen, of course, and as a wealthy man he has the best care money can buy.

"But all the money in the world cannot fix what has happened to him. The family are making arrangements for a future of permanent immobility."

Every day, the Schumacher family travel on a 150-mile round trip to visit the racing driver in Grenoble University Hospital in France.

The pair have been together for 23 years and Schumacher once said of his wife: "It is not so easy to find a partner who unconditionally adapts to the pace of my life."

Schumacher has been unconscious in the hospital since suffering catastrophic injuries while skiing in Meribel with his son and a friend in December.

The German is one of the all-time great racers, with seven Formula 1 titles to his name, including five in a row he won with Ferrari from 2000.
